Changing paradigms of education amid corona virus pandemic

Those were the days when students used to go to schools and colleges but now the scenario has been completely changed. Those school buses filled with students and students going to tuitions with bags on their shoulders are missing nowadays. After December,2019 we have shifted to a new model of education.

Coronavirus pandemic has affected the world’s economy very badly and with that education sector too.To protect ourselves from Coronavirus the government have taken every other step.

As students are not able to go to schools, colleges and universities the method of online classes worked well and still going on. Nowadays students don't need to go anywhere they just need one phone or laptop with proper internet connection to avoid being social or spreading of covid 19, this is a great way.

Via online classes students are able to interact with their teachers in a well manner because in the class full of 50 students teachers might not be able to pay attention on individuals. Also those students who just knew about turning pages of books and knew nothing about technology have got to know about the positive side of technology.

They have learned different ways to study a topic through various platforms like YouTube, Google,ePG-Pathshala etc. It's like a revolution in an education sector.

Also when we look at teachers they're constantly doing their best to provide study material to students and in this journey or tough time we can say that they got to know so much about technology. They have started their on YouTube channels and various sites because we all know online teaching is the future.

The motto of our Honourable Prime Minister Sh.Narendra Modi “Digital  India” have started to grow. The biggest thing which students has realized is the presence of a teacher. They have started missing their teachers and those institutional buildings which will provoke the feeling of love and seriousness for their study.

But let us plot a twist now, sitting at one place from hours without any break really exhaust the person. This is what students are facing now. They’re getting depressed and screwing their eyes in the phones and laptops. It is also affecting their health both physically and mentally.

Some students who don't study in regular offline classes have taken online classes lightly. Also there arises some shameful incidents when some students tries to tease the teacher. They don’t see that how much effort does a teacher do behind that one particular video. Some Mischievous students calls them a “noob” in technology.

This is not enough when it comes to making fun of people. Some students do this intentionally to distract the teacher to demotivate them.Remote rural areas have no or less access of Internet and other resources so in this case students who live there find it difficult to continue their study. Recently a girl in Tamil Nadu commit suicide because of no Internet connection for online study.

Also several private schools and colleges has increased their fees and thrown away a lot of teachers from their schools because of getting no funds for their salary. In all these students of class 10th, 12th ,third year of graduation and PG courses has suffered very badly.

Several exams of CBSE and state boards have cancelled. They reduced their syllabus and some exams like NEET and JEE got postponed and in all that student faced a lot of confusion, anxiety and stress.Students from poor background are not able to continue their study because of lack of resources and they will be forced to work in fields or anywhere to earn which will lead to child labor.

Various initiatives were undertaken by the ministries like MHRD and Department of technology. They started ePG pathshala, free content learning programs ,Google classrooms etc.

In last we can say that

“Necessity is the mother of invention”

The human tend to discover the ways to cope up with their problems and that's how technology gets improved day by day.Now knowledge is just not about turning a page there are a lot of resources available online. It's like knowledge- knowledge everywhere you just need to dive in! Coronavirus have affected us very badly but there is always a positive side of every situation.

Amidst of these we paid attention to bad or illegal ways which private institutions use to get money from parents. Also we learned that many professions are there and works there best but nothing can beat the teachers. In this time some state governments like of Maharashtra prevented fee hikes in schools.

According to data released by UNESCO on 28th June 2020 more than 114 countries have closed schools and colleges.About 1 billion students were affected.Only some countries like Australia,Greenland and Sweden did not took this step and later on Denmark reopened its schools after taking proper safety measures. So where does a less developed country like India lacks in?In case of resources?

Now it's time to make our mind to explore in different directions. We really need to combine our technology with what we read in books.

Well said

“Online education is like a rising tide, it's going to lift all the boats in the sea”

This is the time when we will unite and will work on our skills. When we look at remote rural areas they can be seen as a failure in this pandemic but at the same time they are arising as a challenge for the government. The paradigms of education has been changed amid Coronavirus. We have learned a lot of things during this pandemic.

“Schools at home”,”Work from home” etc. these lines has completely changed our lifestyle now. This pattern of virtual teaching can be improved by providing enough online resources, good Internet connection, skilled teachers. We don't know what future brings in. We need to be flexible and to work with same passion and fun and become globally competitive.
